Pre-K is unfortunately not available for the 2017-18 school year. Inquiries from 2018-19 forward are welcome!

The Linda Beach Pre-K program is intended for children who are 4 years, 6 months old by September 1 of the entering school year. It is offered Monday-Thursday from 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM, and has a maximum class size of 12 students. There are always 2 teachers in the classroom.

Linda Beach Pre-K provides a developmentally-appropriate introduction to pre-reading, literacy, and math, taught by caring and experienced teachers. Creativity and individual expression are encouraged through play, art, and enrichment activities. The low teacher/student ratio makes it possible for each child to have individual attention and ongoing assessment, and the curriculum is tailored each year to meet the particular needs of that year's class. In a creative, loving, and relaxed setting, children learn to grow their peer relationships and build confidence in group participation. Students leave Linda Beach Pre-K equipped with the learning foundations and emotional/social skills to prepare them for a smooth transition into elementary school.

Below is a sample schedule for the Pre-K day.

Cooperative Commitment

Classroom Participation

There is no regular classroom participation expected from parents/guardians in the Pre-K class. Parents/guardians are asked to assist with field trips and there are opportunities for classroom volunteering.

Community Involvement

Linda Beach families each commit to one or two volunteer jobs during the course of the school year. There are a broad range of potential jobs - the parent handbook provides more details. Families also participate in one school cleaning day per year, and attend monthly parent meetings.

Tuition is paid in 10 monthly installments during the months of September-June. For the Pre-K class, 2017-18 tuition is $555 per month. Limited tuition assistance is available based on financial need.
